Course information

The CHC50421 Diploma of Youth Work prepares students for advanced roles in supporting young people within diverse community settings. This comprehensive course equips graduates with the skills and knowledge needed to develop, implement, and evaluate programs that address the complex social, emotional, and developmental needs of youth, with a strong emphasis on promoting their health, well-being, and empowerment.

Entry Requirements
  • Completion of grades 12 or equivalent
  • Demonstrate a satisfactory level of Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) abilities
  • Students must be at least 18 years old at the time of commencement of the course
Course Duration
  • Online learning is completed over 24 months.
  • Study load consists of around 2 units per month over this 24-month period
  • Recommended study per week is between 8 – 12 hours
  • Vocational placement is conducted over a 200 hour period (this is scheduled and planned with the student employer and vocational placement officer).
