Course information

Our CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing and Disability) has been designed for those who are passionate about the care industry and want to provide care for individuals who require assistance due to ageing or disability.

Through the completion of this course, graduates are equipped with the relevant factual, technical, theoretical and procedural knowledge of concepts and practices necessary to provide person-centred support.

This entry-level course gives graduates an understanding of the role of a care worker in community and residential settings.

Graduates are able to provide personalised plans that allow the practitioner to improve their client’s quality of life.

Entry Requirements

Entry requirements for the course include:

  • Completion of grade 10-12 or equivalent
  • Demonstrate a satisfactory level of Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) abilities.
  • Must be able to obtain a federal police check
  • Students may need a COVID-19 vaccine to begin work placement
Course Duration

This course runs over a period of 8 weeks full-time & 16 weeks part-time.

This time is divided as follows:

  • Class attendance is scheduled for all units over a period of 8 weeks
  • Vocational placement is conducted over a 3-4 week period (this is scheduled and planned with the student employer and vocational placement officer).
Work Placement

120 Hours of work placement is required to obtain this qualification. Our Placement officers will arrange everything for you.

All you need to arrange prior to vocational placement is:

  • A current national police clearance
  • Senior first aid certificate
